Big Payout Lawyers

Big Payouts from Lawsuits are Uncommon, but Possible

Some of the biggest litigation prizes and torts have been the result of cases involving medical malpractice, environmental damage, copyright and patent theft, wrongful death, and toxic poisoning. Some pending types of cases expecting big payouts involve asbestos or mesothelioma, prescription drug deaths, and unsafe automobiles and tires. Individual lawsuits can often result in big payouts, but the cautions litigant will also take note that a big judgement or jury verdict will be appealed, simply because appeals are cheaper than payments. Cases can also be settled with structured settlements, whereby the big payout goes into an annuity that is paid over time. Any litigant should also know that cases can take years to get through our overloaded court system, and your lawyers may be expecting expenses (which in some states are legally separated from fees) to be paid in full or in part prior to the outcome of the trial or suit. Big Payout Lawyers are out there, and depending on the case may get you the relief you are looking for (subject to the law and its process) but you should always be conscious of the fact that you may not prevail, even if you are right, so you should be patient and realistic. No attorney can guarantee an outcome, and we know of no lawyers with a 100% success rate, but there are a lot of great lawyers who genuinely want to help you get what is fair for your circumstance, and who will protect your rights against the parties who may have wronged you.

Notes and Special Information

Special note: One of the reasons that big legal settlements make the papers is that they are rare and unusual. If you have a claim, you will probably get an amount that is closer to your actual damages, and you will probably feel that you should have gotten more.
